Rapunzel clutched onto her father, sobbing. “I just…..”, she muttered, wiping her tears away. “…I was just excited to spend time with you.” She looked over where the deer was standing, noting that it had run away. She was grateful it had.

“As was I, but I’m afraid I’m not very wise in what you like to do so I just picked the first thing off the top of my head…” he explained, feeling bad that he had picked hunting as an activity to do with his daughter. “And from now on you get to pick what we do together, alright?” he said with a soft smile as he pulled out a cloth to dry her tears with. Her lifted her head slightly, and gently wiped the rest of her tears.

Rapunzel slipped off of her horse with her fathers help as she continued to stare at the deer. It was a beautiful creature. Standing perfectly in the middle of the clearing, the sunlight shined brightly through the trees, making them glitter, illuminating the helpless deer. Her father spoke to her but she barely heard him. All she did was stand there, shaking. Heart racing she lifted her cross bow, finding it hard to keep it still with her hands shaking like leaves in a winter wind. She aimed and stared off at her target, gulping. The deer looked up at her and that was all it took. She dropped her cross bow and sank to the ground, sobbing. “I can’t do it daddy….I can’t……”

The king knelt down to his daughter, and gave her a soft hug. “Shh… It’s alright, Rapunzel.” he said with a smile. He was actually glad she didn’t do it. “It’s okay if you can’t do it. Really.” he said, hoping to comfort her.

 The queen wipped her eyes and nodded. “Okay..” She took his hand and walked to the window, stepping over  the hair. “Its quite dusty..”

“Yes, it is…” he said as he walked with her, gently holding her hand. He glanced around at the scene that lay in the dim light from the window. Something had happened here before they left. Henry had a few ideas, but was unsure was exactly had happened. He then noticed a corner that had some items there. There were a lot of candles, a doll or two, a guitar, a few puzzles, and some other things that looked to be Rapunzel’s.He then imagined a little blonde Rapunzel playing with her doll, or trying to put all of the pieces to the puzzle together. A smile shown on his face as he thought about it.

Rapunzel shook er head. “Well….let’s just see. Maybe I’ll….maybe I’ll get use to it.”, she replied shakily. Gripping the reigns tightly, head hung low, she followed her father deep into the forest, her heart racing faster and faster. “So what will we be hunting?”

“Alright..” he spoke softly, still worried about her. Was she really ready to do this? Whose idea was it to go hunting anyway?… Oh right.. his. He sighed as he thought all of this. After hearing Rapunzel’s question he thought for a moment. “Hmm.. Well, it seems to be a good season to look for deer, I guess.” he replied and looked around for a moment before his eye caught one in a not-too-far-away clearing. “There’s one,” he whispered, “Let’s go.” Then he got off his horse, and got his crossbow loaded and ready. After getting one for his daughter he nodded at James to stay put, then he went over to Rapunzel and helped her off her horse. “I’ll ask once more… Are you sure?” he asked, putting one hand gently on her shoulder.
